Vermont for the Many

Vermont cannot claim to be a just state while racial disparities persist in housing, education, healthcare, policing, incarceration, and economic opportunity. Racial justice requires more than statements of support. It requires changing the systems that produce unequal outcomes. As State Representative, I will fight for:

• Requiring racial equity impact assessments for major legislation, so lawmakers understand how bills affect Black, Indigenous, immigrant, and other marginalized communities before they vote

• Strengthening Vermont’s Office of Racial Equity and ensuring it has the staffing, authority, and funding needed to identify and address systemic racism across state government

• Expanding fair housing protections and enforcement, including protections for immigrant families, renters using public assistance, and tenants facing discrimination

• Reducing racial disparities in policing, traffic enforcement, school discipline, and incarceration by investing in community-based alternatives, restorative justice, youth supports, and transparent public data

• Supporting immigrant and refugee communities by protecting access to housing, public services, education, healthcare, and legal support regardless of citizenship or immigration status

• Investing in public goods that advance racial and economic justice, including affordable housing, universal healthcare, strong public schools, public transit, childcare, and good union jobs
